We are a competitive swimming club that consistently enjoys success at all levels of the sport.
Worcester swimmers perform well on the County, Regional and National stage. 2013 was no different with over 100 medals won again at the Worcestershire County Championships… including 17 in the senior men’s and women’s events… and 5 swimmers qualifying for national events: James Marsh and Lucy Clayton competing at the British Gas International, Tazmin Pugh at the National Age Group Championships, plus Tabby Monkhouse and Robin Williams at the National Youth/Senior Championships.
With significant pool time and a well structured coaching programme, there is real strength in depth and the Club is one of the strongest in the West Midlands…a long standing member of the top division in both the main team events in which it competes: the Nuneaton & District Junior League and the prestigious Arena sponsored National League.
However, Worcester is proud to be an inclusive community Club too… and competes in many other competitions e.g. the PGL League for 9-14 year old swimmers below County standard which it won in both 2011 & 2013, also finishing runners-up in 2012!
The Fixtures List is extensive… and provides opportunities for all swimmers to compete, individually and as part of a team, whether that be just in our own Club Championships or in Open Meets against swimmers from across the UK. The Club regularly takes swimmers to a range of different level meets, both locally and further afield; and hosts its own Open Meet every October… 17 years old now and still going strong!
Committed to the principles of long term athlete development, we also take great pride when we see swimmers who have moved on from the Club succeed… none more so than Harry Ackland, now at Plymouth, who was selected for the European Junior Championships and World School Games in 2013.
